Full Job Description

Technician is responsible for providing on-site service to our customers around the greater Pittsburgh area. It will be expected to complete assigned routes in our fully equipped vehicle compiled of inspecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining fire alarm systems to our established customer base; Assess and ensure fire safety codes are satisfied and propose remedies if not; Assistance on fire alarm installation projects.

- Maintain a safe and clean jobsite environment

- Review new project information with lead technician

- Work in compliance with various codes such as NFPA72, NFPA17, and NEC

- Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand/power tools

- Pull wire in areas such as drop ceilings, walls, thru conduit, etc.

- Bend, cut, and install conduit per NEC code

- Obtain and remain current in certifications and accolades 


Additional Qualifications

- Prior fire alarm system experience

- Understanding of fundamental laws of electricity

- Ability to work flexible hours 

- Pertinent certifications would include: NICET, OSHA, BICSI, ICC, Electrician License

- High school diploma or equivalent – relevant trade school a plus

- Basic understanding of design such as blueprints and wiring schematics 

- Must be able to work in a team setting

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

- Ability to pass a drug screening


Other Requirements

- Ability to lift 75+ pounds

- Work in jobsite settings at customer facilities

- Climbing and working on ladders or at heights achieved in a lift

- Positive attitude and desire to learn 

- Personal protective equipment provided by employer except for safety shoes
